Dr. Freddyson Martinez-Rivera

  martinez-rivera-crop-scaled
Thank you, Dr. Freddyson Martinez-Rivera from the Department of Neuroscience for a great seminar on October 16th titled "Cellular Transcriptional Correlates of Drug-Associated Memories in the Nucleus Accumbens". We're embarrassed, but a technical difficulty prevented us from recording the seminar. However, his slides will be posted on the UF CARE website. Stay tuned.

We're delighted to announce that Dr. Martinez-Rivera also received the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation (BBRF) Young Investigator Grant! This grant enables promising investigators to either extend research fellowship training or begin careers as independent research faculty, with the goal of helping researchers launch careers in neuroscience and psychiatry and gather pilot data to apply for larger federal and university grants. Congratulations, Dr. Martinez-Rivera!

CATCHING UP

ANOTHER CHANGE! In a new column, we’ll periodically share conversations with UF CARE collaborators. This month, I talked with Dr. Michael Dunn at UCF.  As we began to nurture a network of leaders at other FL institutions, Dr. Dunn was one of the earliest partners—and his involvement has greatly enhanced these efforts. I had the chance to catch up with him the other day. Below is our paraphrased interview. MED= Professor Dunn; AUD=Alcohol use Disorder.
